Muminaat Modesty Sewing Academy

If you wish to learn how to sew and create Islamic garments from scratch, then you will need both machines, however, if you wish to just wholesale Islamic garments from our wholesaler list, then you will not need to have any machine.

I am using the Singer 14SH654 overlocker and the sewing machine is the Brother LX27NT. I am using these machines because they are budget friendly, you can also purchase something similar looking to these machines.

Yes, you will still benefit from this course and the modules teaching you how to use your sewing machine and overlocker, this is because all the domestic machines are made pretty similar and you will still benefit, however some things may be different to your machine compared to mine, so you will also need to read your instruction manual to fully understand your machine.

If you are looking to start a business making customised Islamic garments, then I would recommend purchasing industrial machines and not wasting money on domestic ones. When making Islamic garments, we are in need of using the straight stitch mainly, so if you are purchasing an industrial sewing machine, then you will purchase the straight stitch type. However, if you are looking to just see how sewing goes, and to make simple garments for yourself and your family, then a simple domestic machine is fine for this and will also be okay to use for business purposes (if you are just starting, however once you get more orders and use the machine more frequently, you will need to switch to industrial).

No, once the course has been purchased, you can access the wholesaler information before getting into the sewing modules.

Yes, if you would like to pay using a payment plan, please send through an email to muminaatmodesty@gmail.com. We require $750 upfront and then $150 weekly instalments (minimum) after that.

You are free to purchase any sewing machine and overlocker that suit your budget, we recommend visiting a domestic sewing machine store and seeing which you like the best. Our advise would be to stick to a machine which is not too expensive as you will later upgrade it to an industrial machine once you increase your skills and build a brand for yourself.
